Sandro Cerasi

Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” he has over twenty years of experience in research on the impact of fishing and aquaculture activities on aquatic ecosystems. He has participated in and coordinated numerous national and international projects (FAO, EU, MIPAAF, MAECI), focusing on environmental sustainability, fishery resource management, and water quality assessment. Since 2005, he has been president of Soc. Coop. Maja a r.l., active since 1995 in environmental research and the management of marine and lagoon ecosystems, part of CONSORZIO MEDITERRANEO. He collaborates with major scientific consortia such as CoNISMa, CIBM, and UNIMAR. He has carried out international missions for private companies and public institutions, and is the author of various scientific publications, including a monograph on the biology, fishing, and farming of bluefin tuna. An expert in transitional aquatic ecosystems, he is also involved in the restoration and environmental management of wetlands for hunting activities and biodiversity conservation.
