Haliéus - Organization for development cooperation and international research on fishery, aquaculture and environment.
Haliéus is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) specialized on the value chain of the fishery sector and on the environmental issues. The NGO has been created at the initiative of Legapesca, following the conclusions of the XI national Congress that took place in Rome on 3rd-4th December 2004. Haliéus is the focal organization for the international cooperation initiatives of Legapesca, and is in network with the other specialized structures of Legapesca and Legacoop. Thanks to his network of high level expertise, Haliéus undertakes projects that aim to contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of developing countries. |

Haliéus will be Partner in the Madagascar Project, co financed by the Province of Rome and coordinated by the NGO Seniores Italia. In August the experts of Haliéus will carry out an explorative mission in Djangoa, North Madagascar, for realizing a study on the potentialities for the local development of economic activities on aquaculture and fishery.

The FITOAMBIENT project started - Phytodepuration in Lebanon |

The FITOAMBIENT project has started in January with the first mission of the experts of Lega pesca in Hermel, Bekaa Valley- Lebanon. The project, co-financed by the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region, is centered on the construction of a phytodepuration pilot plant aimed at buffering the environmental impact of the several trout farms on the al-Assi (Orontes) river.
