Haliéus - Organization for development cooperation and international research on fishery, aquaculture and environment.
Haliéus is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) specialized on the value chain of the fishery sector and on the environmental issues. The NGO has been created at the initiative of Legapesca, following the conclusions of the XI national Congress that took place in Rome on 3rd-4th December 2004. Haliéus is the focal organization for the international cooperation initiatives of Legapesca, and is in network with the other specialized structures of Legapesca and Legacoop. Thanks to his network of high level expertise, Haliéus undertakes projects that aim to contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of developing countries. |

FOOD SECURITY, CAPACITY BUILDING AND INTERNATIONALIZATION OF ENTERPRISES: THE I.S.E.C. PROJECT IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
The kick-off meeting of the I.S.E.C. project (Improve Seafood Export Condition) took place in Lucca. The project has been approved and funded by the European Union through the Pro€invest Programme and was born from a partnership between Halieus and the Camera di Commercio Italia-Repubblica Dominicana (leader applicant), Lega Pesca (Italian organization of fishery cooperatives), Codopesca (Consejo Dominicano de Pesca y Acuacultura) , Adoa (Asociacion Dominicana de Acuacultores) and Ina (Industria Nacional Agropesquera de la Republica Dominicana).
